More photos of the Island Olib!
If you're like me, you like to "be there in spirit". I love looking at my friend's and acquaintances photos when they are traveling and kinda imagine what it would be like to be there. I really really hope that the photos and video I have and will be sharing serve as a gateway for some awesome "mind travel".
Like I said in previous posts, if you have any questions or comments, please be sure to leave them below! <3
The south side of the church
Some of the older guys on the island watching Bocci Ball.
We walked into the local (and only) Art Gallery on the island and what do we see on the wall?...
A picture the artist painted of Slavko (Steve's dad) on his sailboat! :)
A closer view.
Steve and Pop Slavko and Jardin.
The Library! :) If you can read from here, the hours are very short and very odd...haven't been able to go inside yet!
We do not know what this building is, but we keep joking about it being the jail house.
The locals call this "the ambulance".
There is no ambulance, and it's not even really open, so I suppose this is more for emergencies when the doctor comes in from the mainland (Zadar), so he has a place to work/operate?
I love that on most properties out here, it has the year they were built! Here is one of the newer homes and you can see the year on their gate.
I just loved how cozy this house was.
Most homes use the vines or grapevines as natural shade over their patios or entry ways. It gave me major inspiration to try to do this when we get home (if we can find a plant life that can shade the Arizona sun without dying).
Another house with a great balcony. :)
Some "ruins" and a cat.
The sign to the Big Market, with the church in the background.
Photos from inside the church.
Love these roads on Olib.
This property is for sale. Steve and I wanted to take a pic to remind us to inquire...just out of curiosity! ;)
Steve took this pic of this old window.
Someone's bell peppers!
These lanters are decoration on a house on the south side of the island. The houses look different than on the other side to me, and it's only a 5 minute walk, lol.
You guys, I LOVED THIS DOOR.
This is someone's home and I loved the style. Also, note the year. :)
The back view of Villa Justina
A photo of the group that danced for the Traditional Croatian dancing night on the island!
Isn't she precious?
I will translate this later, but for now, here's a sign that was up during the little party!
